Profile of Workshop Speakers

 

Dr Foo Kien Kheng received his PhD in Mathematics Education from University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and his MEd (Mathematical Education) from University of Leeds, United Kingdom. He has extensive experience and expertise as a mathematics lecturer cum researcher in the teacher colleges and universities. He has been conducting social science research since 2005 and has over 30 publications under his belt namely in education, research methodology and data analysis. He has been spearheading research and workshops using a data analytic tool for data analysis known as STestMAP. Dr Foo has given many workshops/seminars/talks both in Malaysia and Singapore. In addition he has authored a number of Scopus indexed journals related to the field of mathematics education and research methods.

Dr Foo has been very active in innovation and copyrighted a few products like STestMAP, CalcMAP, I-kit, Logo Board, Takluk game board to name some. He has won recognitions and awards for these products in both local and international exhibitions like Seoul International Innovation Fair 2006 in South Korea, ITEX in KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, Invention, Innovation and Design organized by UiTM Shah Alam and UiTM Negeri Sembilan

Nagarajah Lee Hun Leong (Prof, Dr) received his doctorate in 2005 from University Of South Australia. He is presently the Vice Chancellor at Veritas University College from 2014 till now. He started teaching as a career in 1991 at SMK Durin in Sibu, Sarawak.

He has taught research subjects like Research Methodology for Social Science – Guide, Introductory Business Mathematics – Manual and Road Map to Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Interactive E-Learning Courseware for Medical Statistics for International Medical University,  Advanced Research Methods in Education and  Quantitative Research methods in Education – teaching Modules for Post Graduate students.

He is also active in writing research papers. Among his papers are: The relationship between persistence and academic engagement among post graduate students of OUM, Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, Task-Based Learning: Student’s Perception Of Their Skill In Participating In Small Group Discussions;  Developing and Validating an Instrument to Assess the E-learning Environment at a Public Higher Education Institution in Malaysia.
